Divergent is an upcoming American science fiction adventure film directed by Neil Burger, based on the novel of the same name by Veronica Roth. The film is produced by Lucy Fisher, Pouya Shabazian and Douglas Wick, with a screenplay by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor.[2] It stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Jai Courtney and Kate Winslet.[3][4] The story takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic version of Chicago. Divergent is scheduled to be released on March 21, 2014 in the United States.

In a futuristic Chicago where people are divided into five factions based on their personalities, teenager Tris learns that she is Divergent — a person who does not fit into any one faction -- and soon discovers a sinister plot brewing in her seemingly perfect society.

Development[edit source | editbeta]

In March 2011, Summit Entertainment picked up the rights from for Divergent with Douglas Wick's production company Red Wagon Entertainment.[7] Neil Burger was announced as the director on August 23, 2012.[8] The screenplay is written by Evan Daugherty who said, "I get hung up on the toughness of the movie but of equal importance is the love story between Tris and Four. It's inherently and inextricably linked to Tris' character journey. There will be plenty of sexual tension and chemistry, but it's important that all of that stuff doesn't just feel like it's thrown in, but that it all helps Tris grow as a character."[9] Daugherty, who co-wrote the script with Vanessa Taylor, further added, "It's tricky because the book is a very packed read with a lot of big ideas. So, distilling that into a cool, faithful two-hour movie is challenging. Not only do you have to establish five factions, but you have to acknowledge that there's a sixth entity, which is the divergent, and you also have the factionless. So there's a world that really has to be built out for the big screen… the movie is going to do it a little more efficiently."[10] Author Veronica Roth said about the script of the film: "Reading a script is a really interesting experience. I'd never read a script before. I was really impressed by how closely it stuck to the general plot line of the book."[11]

Initially budget of the film was $40 million but later Lionsgate increased it to $80 million due to the success of The Hunger Games. Analyst Ben Mogil said, "Divergent is more similar to Hunger Games in that the company owns the underlying economics (i.e. production) and the budget (at $80mn) is more manageable.

On October 22, 2012 it was announced that Shailene Woodley had landed the lead role of Tris Prior.[12] Lucas Till, Jack Reynor, Jeremy Irvine, Alex Pettyfer, Brenton Thwaites, Alexander Ludwig and Luke Bracey were all considered for the role of Tobias "Four" Eaton.[13][14] On March 15, 2013, it was announced that Theo James had been cast as Four.

Though James was 10 years older than the character when cast, Roth praised his casting "I was sure within seconds: this was 'Four', no question. Theo is able to capture 'Four's' authority and strength, as well as his depth and sensitivity." She also mentions the chemistry between him and Shailene: "He is a perfect match for Shailene's incredibly strong presence as Tris. I'm thrilled!"[15] The producers said about his casting: "We took our time to find the right actor to fill the role of Four, and Theo is definitely the perfect fit. Veronica has crafted a truly iconic character in Four and we cannot wait to begin production and bring him and this story to life for millions of fans around the world.

Ray Stevenson, Jai Courtney and Aaron Eckhart were announced to be in talks to join the cast on March 15, 2013,[16] Stevenson and Courtney joined the cast as Marcus Eaton and Eric, respectively.[17] Kate Winslet was announced to be in talks on January 24, 2013.[18] Later it was confirmed that she would portray Jeanine Matthews.[19] Talking about playing the negative character first time, Winslet said, "I'm no idiot. The idea went through my head that I have never played a baddie before, I was almost kind of surprised." Since Winslet joined the filming late, she used that distance from her co-stars to appear aloof on the first day of her shoot. "I wanted to break it and say, 'It's OK, I'm really fun. I promise.' But I thought, just for today, I'd let them think that I am a complete bitch.

Filming began in Chicago in April 2013 and concluded on July 16, 2013.[21][22][23] Virtually all production photography took place in Chicago; many of the interior locations were filmed at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.[24] Scenes for the "choosing ceremony" were shot at 17th Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago on East Wacker in downtown Chicago.[25] Filming also took place at the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel; the entire area was treated with dirt and rust to appear more dystopian.[26] Additional scenes were shot at 57th Street and Ellis Avenue near University of Chicago,[27] at Federal Street where fake EL tracks were constructed[28] and at Michigan Avenue.[29]

For the Abnegation sector, the production team constructed the set on Wells Street in downtown Chicago.[30] In late June, filming took place at 1500 S Western Avenue and 600 S. Wells Street, Chicago.[31] In the last schedule, filming moved to the Chicago River and continued at Lake Street Bridge, Wacker Drive and LaSalle Street Bridge.

The whirlwind trailer takes viewers into the dystopian world -- in which society is separated into five factions -- created by bestselling YA author Veronica Roth. Woodley stars as 16-year-old Tris Prior, who leaves the comfort of her family life behind to pursue a new world of thrills in the Dauntless faction. Kate Winslet also star. In the trailer, viewers see Tris as she learns that she is a divergent and begins her intitiation into Dauntless.

Divergent, the first in a planned franchise, is due out March 21, 2014.

Muppets Most Wanted[1] is an upcoming American musical comedy mystery film, directed by James Bobin, written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Mandeville Films.[2][3] The film is a semi-sequel to the 2011's The Muppets.[4][5][6] David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who produced the previous film, will return, as well as musician Bret McKenzie.[7][8]

Principal photography commenced in January 2013 at Pinewood Studios in London.[9] Walt Disney Pictures will release the film on March 21, 2014.[10][11] The film has a similar premise to 1981's The Great Muppet Caper.

Taking place after their successful comeback in The Muppets, the entire Muppets gang go on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe's most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. However, mayhem follows the Muppets overseas as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine (the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit) and his dastardly sidekick Dominic (Ricky Gervais).

Nicholas Stoller confirmed that the film would be a caper and that the film's setting would take place throughout Europe.

In March 2012, after the critical and commercial success of the The Muppets, Walt Disney Studios negotiated a deal with James Bobin and Nicholas Stoller to direct and write, respectively, an eighth installment.[4] Disney green-lit the film on April 24, 2012.[34] Originally commissioned under the title, The Muppets...Again!,[2] production on principal photography began in January 2013, at London's Pinewood Studios in Iver, Buckinghamshire.[9][35] Jason Segel, co-writer and star of the previous film, declined any involvement with the eighth entry, citing that he had accomplished his ambition of bringing the characters to the forefront with the 2011 film.

James Bobin said that the film was "a tip of the hat to the old-school crime capers of the ’60s, but featuring a frog, a pig, a bear and a dog—no panthers, even pink ones—along with the usual Muppet-y mix of mayhem, music and laughs".

Eve Stewart, the production designer on the film, let slip that she is working on a scene where Kermit and Miss Piggy get married again, at the Tower of London.[38] In addition to the United Kingdom, filming also took place on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, to recreate the previous film's ending.[39] On June 13, 2013, the title of the film was changed to Muppets Most Wanted.

Story

"A Haunted House 2" is the sequel to the hilarious box-office hit starring Marlon Wayans as Malcolm who, after exorcising the demons of his ex, is starting fresh with his new girlfriend and her two children. After moving into their dream home, Malcolm is once again plagued by bizarre paranormal events. With spine-tingling tension and hilarious punch-lines "A Haunted House 2" is inspired by the latest supernatural horror movie franchises and shows that this time... it's not just the house that's haunted!

On April 8, 2013, it was confirmed that Wayans, Open Road, and IM Global Octane will produce a sequel due to the financial success of the first film.[3] The film is titled A Haunted House 2, and it was reported the film would likely begin shooting in early July 2013.[4] On May 3, 2013, it was confirmed that a sequel titled A Haunted House 2 would be released on March 28, 2014.[5] On August 24, 2013, it was announced that Jaime Pressly, Ashley Rickards and Gabriel Iglesias had joined the cast of the film.[6] Principal photography began on August 26, 2013.

Marlon Wayans' "A Haunted House" sequel will be released in theaters March 28, 2014. The first film in the series has grossed over $40 million worldwide since its January release date, making $19 million its opening weekend.

The announcement of "A Haunted House 2" was made last month by Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films. Open Road Films acquired all rights for distribution of the "A Haunted House 2". The movie will be financed and produced by IM Global’s label Octane.

"A Haunted House" is a parody of found footage paranormal films. Production of the film's sequel will begin this summer and is scheduled to be in the winter. Marlon Wayans will reprise his role in the film.

“Rick and I are excited about embarking on this journey again. IM Global has been a great, supportive partner and Open Road did a fantastic job marketing and releasing the movie. I’m looking forward to doing it again, mainly because of the fun we had the first time around. ‘Fun’ is the keyword when doing funny.” Wayans said in a press release about the new film.

Even though production hasn't started yet, the first poster has sprung up for A Haunted House 2, which was announced just last month. In conjunction with this one-sheet, Open Road Films has also set a March 28, 2014 release date for the spoof comedy sequel.

Marlon Wayans is starring in and co-writing the sequel, reprising his role as Malcolm from A Haunted House, which earned more than $40 million at the domestic box office.

Open Road Films is producing A Haunted House 2, alongside IM Global's genre division, Octane. Production is scheduled to begin sometime this summer. No director has been attached at this time.

Noah is an upcoming epic film[2] directed by Darren Aronofsky and written by Aronofsky, Ari Handel, and John Logan.[3] Starring Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Connelly, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ray Winstone, the film is set to be released in theaters on March 28, 2014.

Subject to divine visions foretelling the end of the world, Noah attempts to tell his people to cease their mistreatment of the earth in order to be saved. No one listens to his warnings, and Noah and his family are cast out to fend for themselves in the wilderness. Noah approaches a race of giant six-armed angels known as the "Watchers" to rally them to his cause.

Casting

Aronofsky had previously offered the role of Noah to Michael Fassbender and Christian Bale, both of whom declined.

Dakota Fanning was originally cast in the role of Ila, but departed due to a scheduling conflict

Julianne Moore was also considered for the role of Naameh.

Liam Neeson, Liev Schreiber and Val Kilmer were also considered for the part of Tubal-cain, but Aronofsky reportedly wanted an actor "with the grit and size to be convincing as he goes head-to-head against Crowe's Noah character".[11]Principal photography

Principal photography began in July 2012, in Dyrhólaey, Fossvogur, Reynisfjara and other locations in Southern Iceland.

Filming also took place in New York state . A set representing Noah's Ark was built at the Planting Fields Arboretum in Upper Brookville, New York.[28] In September 2012, while on break from a location on Long Island, Russell Crowe and a friend, both of whom had been kayaking for several hours, were rescued by the Coast Guard near Cold Spring Harbor.[29] Production was put on hold while Hurricane Sandy went through the East Coast during late October 2012.

Music

The film will be scored by Clint Mansell, who composed the music for all of Aronofsky's previous feature films.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky of The Wrestler and Black Swan fame and also starring Russell Crowe in the title role, it’s a multi-million dollar retelling of the Old Testament tale in which one man was divinely chosen to build a giant wooden ark in which to save himself, his family and two of every species of animal on the planet from an imminent and catastrophic global flood.

Filmed in Iceland, it will see 75-year-old Hopkins donning a long grey wig and ageing make-up to play Noah’s grandfather Methuselah who, having made it to 969, was thought to have been the oldest person to have ever lived.

And before the preview of the film Aronofsky told the conference, billed as a “gathering of artists, geeks, and storytellers seeking to explore creativity within the church,” that it was a film he’d been wanting to make ever since his school days when he won a class award for a poem he’d penned on the subject.

“That poem gave me the courage and spirit to be a writer, so Noah’s very much been a patron saint in my life leading me creatively,” said the 44-year-old director, who announced he was honoured to have been able to add the Port Talbot acting legend to his cast list.

“I'm also excited that Hollywood has finally agreed to make the first biblical epic in almost 50 years,” the director continued, referencing the likes 1956 The Ten Commandments and 1965 The Greatest Story Ever Told.

asked about Natasha's relationship with Steve, Johansson said "Their working relationship becomes a more intimate friendship. They have some unexpected similarities – they both have their guard up, they have trust issues, and they've also both been working for 'the man' for their entire career. Through this unexpected friendship that forms, they both start to question what they want."
